Experienced engineers carry a great deal responsibility in their workplaces, but lack the job security that should come with it, says the Senior Engineers’ List.

Not enough is being done for well-established employees at Danish workplaces. IDA's members often experience problems with well-being and the working environment, and when it comes to those over the age of 50, job insecurity unfortunately becomes a factor. The Senior Engineers’ List believes that society as well as companies should be better at appreciating experienced employees and ensuring job security for them. For example, it should be easier to stay on the labour market for longer without being punished by being thrown out of the unemployment insurance fund. By keeping older employees for longer, we can solve some of the problems with engineer shortage in Denmark.

- More membership benefits for IDA members. It should be attractive to become part of the community.

History

The Senior Engineers’ List has been active throughout the life of IDA and has, among other things, worked on internationalization, pension policies etc. throughout the years. The list's candidates are engaged in a host of local events and believe that IDA should remain strong in local communities. The list, however, also raises long-term political issues: engineering identity, the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and a better layout of the labour market.

Who
In the engineering and research world, the title of Senior is awarded to the employees who have the experience and strength to bear the greatest responsibility. It is this capacity that The Senior Engineers’ List refers to in its name. The list consists of candidates of all ages and is widely represented in political committees and IDA’s regions. The list especially appeals to IDA members over the age of 50.

Vision

IDA must be an exclusive union that we are proud to be part of. IDA should only be open to new professional groups if they qualify with at least three years of natural science education from a university.

IDA should be more involved in the public discourse on technology, especially in the field of sustainability.

IDA should have a higher organizational percentage. The future labour market with a lot of free agents creates an even greater need for a stronghold.

Sæt pris på de erfarne

Erfarne​ ingeniører bærer et stort ansvar på deres arbejdspladser, men savner den tryghed, der burde følge med, mener Senioringeniørlisten.

Der bliver ikke gjort nok for de etablerede medarbejdere på de danske arbejdspladser. IDAs medlemmer har ofte problemer med trivslen og arbejdsmiljøet, og når det gælder dem over 50 år, bliver utryghed i ansættelsen desværre en præmis. Senioringeniørlisten mener, at samfund såvel som virksomheder skal være bedre til at påskønne de erfarne medarbejdere og sikre dem tryghed i ansættelsen. Det skal være lettere at blive på arbejdsmarkedet længere uden at blive straffet ved eksempelvis at blive smidt ud af a-kassen. Ved at fastholde de ældre medarbejdere længere kan en del af ingeniørmanglen i Danmark udbedres.

Mærkesager

-Flere seniorordninger, så man kan blive på arbejdsmarkedet længere.

-Trivsel og tryghed skal være på dagsordenen i IDA. Første skridt: Gør 2019 til temaår for trivsel.

-Flere medlemsfordele for IDA-medlemmer. Det skal være attraktivt at blive en del af fællesskabet.

Historisk

Senioringeniørlisten har været aktiv gennem hele IDAs levetid og blandt andet arbejdet med internationalisering, pensionspolitik m.m. gennem årene. Listens kandidater er engageret i et væld af lokale arrangementer og mener, at det er ude i lokalområderne, IDA fortsat skal leve. Listen løfter dog også de mere langsigtede politiske emner: ingeniøridentitet, FN’s verdensmål samt en bedre indretning af arbejdsmarkedet.

Hvem

Seniortitlen tildeles i ingeniør- og forskerverdenen de medarbejdere, der har erfaring og styrke til at bære det største ansvar. Det er denne betydning, Senioringeniørlisten henviser til i sit navn. Listen består af kandidater i alle aldre, og listen er repræsenteret bredt i politiske udvalg og IDA-regioner. Listen appellerer især til IDA-medlemmer over 50 år.

Vision

IDA skal være en eksklusiv forening, vi er stolte af at være en del af. IDA skal kun åbnes for nye faggrupper, hvis de har mindst tre års naturvidenskabelig uddannelse fra et universitet.

IDA skal blande sig mere i den offentlige debat om teknologi, særligt inden for bæredygtighed.

IDA skal have højere organisationsprocent. Fremtidens arbejdsmarked med mange frie fugle giver endnu større behov for et stærkt samlingspunkt.
